Eyesbright Colorvue Jewel Gold Contact Lens review

I have always wanted to try out colored contact lenses, so when Eyesbright offered me the chance I was super excited. I picked the Jewel Gold pair for my first option; I wanted something bold, but not to obvious that people would see them straightaway.

The lenses came packaged in a nice neat little packet and they were easy yo apply. The lenses themselves were slightly bigger than everyday lenses, so that felt a little strange at first, but they settles down. Disclaimer: I used to wear lenses daily (pre bad LASEK) so I do know what I’m talking about here. I really liked the gold decoration on the lenses- they caught the light in a really cool way, plus I just got a new camera to play with, so I may have got  a little carried away…

And yes, I do really need to do my eyebrows.

MAC 2013 collections: Muscles, Snakes and sheer

It’s no secret I love MAC makeup- yes me and the rest of the world- and one of my favorite things is to drool over the amazing images they shoot with their latest collections. In pure eye candy style, I’ve decided to show you some of the most luscious looks available from MAC at the moment.

MAC Strength Collection

I love that MAC used a strong woman to front this- literally with those biceps. The color range is bold and bright – a dusky red lip and tawny bronzers.

Little Mermaid walks on land : Walk with Princess Shoes!

The Little Mermaid is one of my all time favorite movies, so I screamed with excitement when I saw these shoes. Perfect on so many levels- I love the heel, the height, the mix of contrasting colors, and that they come adorned with Prince Eric and Ariel is simply too fabulous for words.

The heels are hand painted by Etsy Seller Ashton Atelier, and she’s a whizz at creating Disney Princess types on the bottom of your soles. Not only will she create Ariel- or Sleeping Beauty/ Cinderella etc, but she’ll also apply them to ANY pair of shoes you want, as you get to send her a pair to work with. Yes, that does make the whole princess a little pricier- and you’ll be without your shoes a while, but in return you get back a pair that you know fits well that has now had a major revamp.

Foreo Luna Mini challenges the Clarisonic

Cleansing is a huge part of my life, it’s a ritual that involves lotions, oils, cloths and gadgets. From muslin wipes to the Clarisonic, the cleansing process leaves me feeling revived, fresh and awake. Nothing gets me feeling as ‘fresh’ as my trusty Clarisonic, but the pricetag of $150 plus is understandably offputting to many.

The Foreo Luna Mini is a budget friendly alternative and is super cute too. I haven’t tested it, but did manage to get a hands on preview in January, and it looks like it might be great. The waterproof vibrating brush/applicator/something of this nature is covered in silicone and pulsates up to 1400 times a minute. The idea is that you apply your favorite cleanser to the brush and not only will it thoroughly clean your face, but it will also stimulate blood flow, and do this in a gentle manner.

500 points on the brush contact the face and the two speed options allow you to adjust it to your preferences. The Foreo Luna Mini also has a light indicator which lets you know when to move t to different parts of the face. It can last 90 days on one charge – no batteries needed-  and I really like the pretty color options it comes in.

Definitely worth a try!

Nailympics 2013 – The Rome Nail Art Olympics

Over and over  I have stressed the idea that nail art is an ART. It involves skill, time, dedication and creativity and the Nailympics 2013 celebrates the diversity of this. Artists from around the world gathered in Rome to create breathtaking displays of design on nails.

This is a serious competition, there is a big judging panel and each category has its own sets of rules, from creativity elements to  options such as ‘Micro art or “Flat art” must not represent more than 20% of the total artwork. It is suppose to be 3 Dimensional artwork.’

Work out in style- Outfits for all workouts

If we’ve managed to learn one thing from January 2013 it’s that gyms are hard to get to, and that exercising when its cold sucks big time. If your resolutions need a boost, and your wardrobe needs a makeover, this is the right place for you. It used to be easy to workout- a pair of trainers and s ports bra, but multiple sports and interests mean that you require different outfits. Plus, you never know who you might meet at the gym. so you might as well be sweaty in style, right? All the following options can  be adapted for your own particular budgets, so feel free to workout what styles would suit you.

Yoga is a tricky workout to dress properly for., Sure, you envisage yourself looking serene and Sienna Miller like, but to get an effective workout you’re probably going to sweat, and skintight clothing and sweat patches.. umm, no. Look for clothes which offer antibacterial properties and ventilation and you’ll be able to downward dog it without worrying. Accessorise with a cute water bottle and sweatbands, and voila.

Lacquerous lets you rent nail polishes

I love nail varnishes and have a rather ridiculous collection of them at home. I like to change my colors regularly- sometimes mauve, sometimes coral, gold- mixing it all up. I’m always excited to try new shades, and rarely finish a bottle, so the Lacquerous model is great for me. The Lacquerous model offers people like me- nail varnish addicts- the chance to try brand new designer nail shades, without taking up too much space in my bathroom.

The site allows you to choose colors and brands that you like- including Chanel, Lancome and more- to your ‘lust list and you can then get three shipped to you as often as you want- all for $18 a month. When you’re bored with your varnishes you simply ship them back in the box – with free post and packaging- and then more get sent out to you.

Sure, you could just buy all the varnishes, but we all know that Chanel polishes COST a lot, and this is a way to try the best shades without the commitment. Think of it as a swap shop, with a fee, but the fee gets you designer nails. All nail bottles are checked for cleanliness on return, so you’ll never get something sticky in the mail, and you can upload and swap your own varnishes.
