Revision Skincare Intellishade SPF45 Matte Foundation promises to suit EVERY skintone

A skincare moisturising foundation that makes you look younger, protects your from the sun AND HAS ONE SHADE THAT WILL SUIT ANYONE? Come on, I wasn’t born yesterday.

That’s exactly what Revision Skincare says it does with the Intellishade Foundation, but I was unsure. To be fair, they say tinted moisturizer rather than full on foundation so that;s a little more wiggle room, but every skintone- hello, it’s a lovely multicolored world.

However, I like a challenge- and LOVE a new foundation, so was happy to try this out. First off, the color is a nice flattering beige, a little orange on the hand, but soon blended into my pale skin- no lines obvious. The coverage was light- sheer, and it had a nice non greasy finish to it. The matte finish was very flattering for this time of year and I loved the fact that it was SPF 45- though they use zinc oxide as one of the main SPF ingredients, to provide UV and UVB protection, there was no white residue and it had a smooth , not chalky feel.

I like that it was non greasy and also surprising clean and efficient to use- no drips or gloopiness from the tube, and the tube design let you know exactly how much you had left to use.

A range of cool ingredients make up the formula- most of which I know, such as Vitamin C, fro brightening, and birch extract for wrinkle reduction.

What about the big question though- does it really suit all skin types? My redheaded friend, and my Asian friend stood up  to try it. (The review was unplanned or more skin colors would be represented.)

So what was the verdict? Both looked dubiously at the products, both shook their head as they put it on.. and both were impressed. Really. Words such as ,”I’d NEVER have picked this up in a store, but now..” and “WTF? No way!” were uttered. The redhead noticed a slightly darker tint to her skin than usual and the Asian noticed no such lines, but loved the moisturizing elements.

Overall: All impressed

I think I’d want a thicker coverage for everyday wear, but for occasions when I don’t want to do much, this is a true gem, that can be shared around.

Untired Eye Cream from LP Skin Therapy: REVIEW

I have never been convinced that people need a separate eye cream as well a a good skin cream, but the LP Skin Therapy Eye cream goes someway to changing my mind. Created by Dr. Linda Papadopoulos PhD,  -for those who don’t know her, she’s THE queen of daytime TV skincare, and is a charming charismatic woman, who looks nothing like her 42 years of age. FYI- I have met her in person, and can confirm that she’s every but as fresh looking as the airbrush suggests.

The interesting thing about this eye cream is that it’s slightly tinted, almost a Matt beige color with a couple of luminous particles in it that help brighten the eye area. Ingredients wise it features things such as Alpha Glucose Hesperidin, Fiflow SC and Platinum Matrix-EM. No, I have NO IDEA what that means, and though they helpfully add explainers such as ‘brightening’ etc, I don’t feel that really gives you a good idea of what it does.

Dolluxe False Lashes All Dolled Up Review

Now I have a a hit or miss relationship with false eyelashes so I wasn’t sure of Dolluxe were going to work for me. They looked nice and fluttery in the pretty pink packaging, but would they equal to spidery loveliness on my eyelids? All too often falsies end up in a pile of tears with my eyes prickling, and me wailing I’ve wasted half an hour and some pocket money to NOT achieve lovely lashes.

Well these were recommended to me by the New York Lolitas (lovely stylish girls with clothes to die for) so I gave them a chance. The ones I chose were the number #4, All Dolled Up versions.

Some Bunny loves these shoes

What do you call a shoe that’s so cute, the grown woman in you goes AWWWWW, and does a strange little dance? Actually, I don’t think there is a word, and that might be just me who does that. Oops. Oh well.

Anyhow, these shoes are pretty sweet- the thick heel makes them perfect for walking in, and allows nice days in the park without that stiletto sinkage and the kawaii shoes will make you get smiles from everyone you see. The bunny ears are adorable- white is more genteel, and the black adds a little dab of fierceness to your rabbit. Braids and Lolita shorts not needed, I would wear these whenever.

Yes, it’s shoe love.

Lady Soma Renewal Serum is a hit: REVIEW

Lady Soma is a relatively new brand on my radar, but so far everything I have tried from them has left me very impressed.

The Lady Soma Renewal Serum is designed to be an intensive moisturizer to help combat signs of ageing, dry skin and general poor health. I’m not too concerned about ageing, but I do find that the changing weather leaves my skin looking blotchy and flushed and the prickly heat I’v ebeen getting has left red (self inflicted) marks on my neck and chest.

The beauty of the Renewal Serum is that it’s VERY thick, yet absorb super quickly. It comes in a clear bottle which surprised me a little (brown bottle shelp maintain some active ingredients) and is a mixture of Vitamin A, Hyaluronic Acid ( my watchword on great moisturizing) and a bunch of other chemically sounding stuff.

I was super excited to try circle lenses.. but they were a huge FAIL

It would be easy to blame Lady Gaga for my circle lens foray, jump on the bandwagon of cool that she sashays down and say I just wanted ‘bad romance’ but that would just be lying. think about it. That video was over three years ago, so it would just make me look like the laziest fangirl ever. Truth be told, circle lenses have been on my radar pre-Gaga, as I’m a little obsessed with weird Japanese and Korean blogs and after wondering how the fuck do all the girls look like anime characters, I decided that http://lmgtfy.com/ was pretty much my only answer. Enter a world of fantasy, of sapphire diamonds floating across pupils, tiny gold filaments sparking around irises of the eye, and circles, so many circles, like all your Venn diagram wet dreams in one big strange absorbing eyeball.

The problem was that my eyesight was abhorrent.we’re talking minus eight people, and for those blessed with 20/20, minus six is considered legally blind my many people, so add two more points.. and yeah. Of course, I could get circle lenses and wear them with my glasses, but that felt like a really lame way to go, and would pretty much spoil my whole fantasy of masquerading as some adorable anime nymphet.

In 2012 I had unsuccessful laser eye surgery (yes, I’m in that enviable 5% bracket). My eyesight isn’t 20/20, but it is -2, which means that as long as I avoid roads and reading, I could finally indulge my circle lens fetish.

Carefully selecting the Phantasee MaxVue vision circle lenses in black, I eagerly awaited their arrival. After ripping them open, I was so impatient to try them that I temporarily blinded myself putting one lens in my eye created a burning blistering pain that had me hopping up and down, tears streaming. Seems that the packaged solution the lens travel in doesn’t go so well in the eyes, and the instructions I’d ripped apart would have told me to rinse the lenses in the provided solution.

The next day, I tried them again. I prepared- hands were clean, face was bare and smooth, lenses were rinsed. In went one. then the next. No burning pain- always a good thing, right.

Chill Pill soap Prescription

Want to feel like you’re getting the full benefit from soaping up? Take it in pill form. Uh. OK, bad joke. Really bad joke, I apologize. But seriously, it’s a chill pill mint green soap in an Rx bottle. How am I meant to pun on that?

Made with aromatherapy oils, for added scent- think eucalyptus and peppermint, the soaps are colored in earth tones.

Please keep playing with your food Hong Yi

It used to be seen as inappropriate to play with your diner, but years of Foodstagrammers, meal bloggers and foodies have alerted this perception. Artist Hong Yi takes this one step further and creates dazzling designs on a dinner plate. Her raw material? Whatever s in her fridge. Once the artwork has been constructed and photographed.. it then gets eaten. Talk about the circular path of the art world!

Hong Yi created these design as part of her ’30 Day’ project, and the goal was to create a design for every day of the month. They range from reinterpreting existing artwork such as Banksy’s famous graffiti prints, to pastiche prints of well known logo designs- the Louis Vuitton mushrooms are adorable.
