Tatu Couture Collection amazes with tattoo cutouts

There are few things that leave me breathless in life, and the offerings from Tatu Couture have recently been bequeathed of that status. I’ve simply never seen anything quite like these pieces- extremely sexy well cut chemises, pants and basques that feature faux skin cut out areas with tattoo prints. The pieces give the illusion that the wearer has a variety of intricate tattoos in interesting places, yet the reality is smooth skin beneath. The designs exude luxury and sexuality and there’s something very primal about actively imprinting women with tattoos that are fake- some idea about branding and symbols is at work here, though I haven’t had enough sleep to really dig deep on this.

The Tatu Couture collection consulted real tattoo artists to make the tattoos look realistic and range aims to be versatile, with TWO shades of skintone offered.

I love the choice of slogans for the items as they’re provocative and aspirational, and the kind of message I’d feel positive about wearing on my person. The ‘Grace’ high waisted briefs say, We love only what we do not wholly possess”, which leaves you room for thought about society, the world, and the prettiness of the calligraphy script (you have to laugh at yourself, right?)
