Body Oil Bliss: The best body oils I use
I love body oils. Like LOVE in actual capitals, unashamedly Comic Sans about them. I love how they feel on my skin, all soft and glistening and slidey, I LOVE how they make my limbs look semi photoshopped and make my trout face more believable and I love how I feel like a pornstar as my slick legs and torso invite people to slide up and down me (is that going too far?)
I have tried numeorus body oils and there are a few things I have learnt;
- Number One: Apply to slightly dry skin as wet skin dilutes the oil and leaves puddles on the floor.
- Number Two: Do NOT by any means dress for at least 10 minutes- body oil stains are HARD to wash out of T-shirts.
That’s all- and these are my current favourites.

Pevonia Botanical Dry Oil Body Moisturizer (buy it here)
Beloved by people who frequent spas, this amazing oil goes on ina fine mist and absorbs quickly.Vitamin A, E and D make your skin feel supersoft and it feels lush under your fingers- think baby oil but 100x better.

Melvita Monoi Dry Oil
I adore this oil- and I’m not even sure you can buy it anymore. It smells like almonds and marzipan wrapped into a lovely thick yellow oil, and it makes me feel delicious slathering it on. Monoi Oil is great for skin soothing, and this one is suitable for hair and body (though I have never used it in my hair- my poor extensions would die!). Other stuff includes things like Oceanian Saffron and Amazoniam Roucou Oil- which justifies the price, and I adore it. I love the satin sheen it gives me- so flattering! You’ll have to Google it for a stockist as I think it’s discontinued- bring it back Melvita!!
Moroccan Nights Glow Oil from Earthly Body £13.95
This oil smells like you’ve doused yourself in sugar, and that’s a feeling I can live with. Thicker than the other oils, the texture is more akin to cooking than cosmetic, but it sinks in (slowly) and leaves you feeling like you’re a cream pie waiting to be devoured. There are a bunch of other flavours as well, and I love the fact that these body oils are natural.
Pupa Ultra Elasticising and Toning Oil (Get it here)
This is the most ‘active’ oil of the bunch, in that it tries to do more than just scent and soften the skin. This oil focuses on firming and likes to mention words like ‘improving elasticity and tone. ‘ I say that this almond/argan oil mix leaves my skin feeling great, and though I don’t feel that my ‘cellular membranes’ have changed, I do like using it when I need a body boost.
