Gelish manicure at Selfridges

I’m a big fan of gel nail varnish as it’s about the only guarantee I have of not ruining my manicure in the drying process (gel nails dry instantly, so I’m sorted). I recently got a gift voucher for my birthday to get a set of Gelish nails done at the Cobella salon in Selfridges and thought I would share my experience with you.

To start with SELFRIDGES is an amazing place to go and get a beauty treatment as you’resurrounding by the gloss of the beauty halls and the glamorous rustle of dresses from the women’s section. Cobella is located on the third floor, and is a glossy oasis of pampering and prettiness. The nail chairs are white leather and comfortable and my manicurist was super sweet- asking what I wanted, what shape etc.

I didn’t feel rushed at all, and she was patient when I ummed and ahhed over colours for about 10 minutes! Gelish is really easy to apply- nails are prepped with a solution and then layers are painted on by hand. Each layer is dried/cured under a UVlamp to make it rock hard and colour is built with two or three layers.  The process is surprisingly quick and completely pain free and I LOVE that the nails can’t be smudged!

My nails were finished with some cuticle oil and a lovely hand and arm massage and I left admiring my digits.. and the clothes on the racks. My nails were rock hard so I didn’t worry about smudging anything, and they stay perfect for around 2-3 weeks, at which point they’ve outgrown the nail bed and you need to remove with acetone wrapped in silver foil.

The many, many colours on offer!

A New Gel Manicure is £50 and a pedicure is £55
