Fossil AW12 Jewellery sneak peek

Fossil is one of those brands I don’t really think about. I know they’re well made, ooze leather luxury and occasionally do pretty collabs- I pass their St Pancras store most days- but I feel they fly a little below the radar. When you’re a brand trusted for quality, it’s hard to do high fashion, and they’re trying to add more strings to their collection with a brand new jewellery range. Will it succeed?

They do amazing bangles and bracelets- note the giraffe bangle which has a matching handbag!

Well, it’s never a sure thing, but they’re trying to appeal to two types of people, with a delicate filigree style range as well as chunky costume pieces. Their Autumn collection features a lot of heirloom pieces- old school clasp detailing on modern metals, and their bangles really stood out for me- pieces you could layer or wear alone. Prices averaged at £40-£100 (460 -$130) and many of the materials used matched certain bags, so you could conceivably go for the whole package.

These chunky necklaces have to be my favourite- they have a lovely weight to them, and I love the mesh chain as I find it modern, and a great way to dress up a T-shirt.

Keep your eyes peeled this year for their release. Does this make you re-evaluate Fossil as a brand?
