David Koma AW12 footwear is WOW

I’m a big fan of footwear to begin with, and when you take a beautiful shoe and add a striking heel and a stunning metallic finish, well I’m head over heels in lust. I recently previewed the David Koma AW12 collection at the Modus PR showroom on London and was bowled away by the creativity and vision behind the new line of footwear.

David Koma is a central Saint Martins graduate, and well known for his distinctive  fashion designs, but this is the first time I’ve really been struck by his footwear. He teamed up with Alain Quilici  to offer a variety of shoes with one unique feature-  a distinctive Anubis like heel, that tapers into a point and features an embellished dog.

The colour palette used is strictly metallic, with a silver heel, silver metallic loafers and black parent finishes as well as sheer black panelling on the ankle boots. the heel feature makes the soles have a wedge like wearability, so these will be far more comfortable than they look, and they stand out so much you know people will be drawn to them.

I know I’ll be splashing out on these when they’re available- they are living pieces of artwork as well as footwear and I love the creativity and passion that went into these stunning Koma creations.
